麒麟竭（きりんけつ）

  1. タイ半島からマレー群島区系 (wp)西部にかけて分布するヤシ科 (wp)のキリンケツ (wp)（Calamus draco Willd.; シノニム: Daemonorops draco (Willd.) Blume）[2]の樹脂。赤色の染料などとして用いられる。

備考 編集

『大辞林』初版においては「アフリカ原産のユリ科 (wp)の木本、竜血樹 (wp)」が原料とされている[3]。北アフリカのモロッコ等を原産とする[4]キジカクシ科（古い体系ではユリ科に含められていたこともある）リュウケツジュ (wp)（Dracaena draco (L.) L.）は種小名こそキリンケツと同じであるが、分類学的に全く異なる植物である。
