Forgive me for not speaking any Japans Oranda jin desu. The etymology of mes is not quite correct. It should be *mati+*sahs not mezzisahs. The change (West)Germanic *mati -> mazzi is typical for High German. Dutch never underwent that change, neither did English, hence meat not meaz. There is one more word where the element *mati is preserved in Dutch: metworst a kind of sausage made of pieces of (pork) meat. I still has a t. nl:Gebruiker:Jcwf
